Connecting Digital FPV to FX-405 FC
There are many ways to connect the Digital FPV to the FX-405 FC and displaying the OSD.
In this case, we are going to use the UART2 Port on the flight controller.
*You may use UART1 / SERIAL1 for Digital FPV, it's not necessary to use UART2 / SERIAL2.
Using two 4 pins connectors, we are going to make two 2 pins connectors so that the VTX can be powered from the VTX port via 9V & GND and the OSD data flow from the TX & RX on the UART2 Port.
In this case, we are using the UART2 for the Digital FPV connection. So connect your FX-405 to the Mission Planner and configure your parameters as below,
i. OSD_TYPE = 3
ii. SERIAL2_PROTOCOL = 33
iii. MSP_OPTIONS = 0 (or you may use 4 or 5 if there’s font incompatibility)
iv. On your DJI Goggle. Go to Settings > Display > Custom OSD
Optional :
- You may set OSD_TYPE to 1 to output both analog OSD and MSP OSD.
To enable Auto Recording after arming the motors, Go to your DJI Goggle Settings > Recording Settings > Takeoff REC, set to ON
Walksnail Avatar & DJI O3
If the above parameter does not work with your Walksnail or DJI O3, try the below parameters,
i. OSD_TYPE = 5
ii. SERIAL2_PROTOCOL = 42
iii. MSP_OPTIONS = 0 (or you may use 4 or 5 if there’s font incompatibility)
